Toshiba Elevator and Buildings Systems Corporation has installed two elevators with speed of 1010 mtrs/min (60.6km/h) for TAIPEI 101 located in Taiwan. These elevators are officially approved by the Guinness World Records as the fastest elevator in the world. Toshiba elevators has developed the solution of the fastest vertical ride of the passengers without neglecting the safety and riding comfort.
In order to travel from the 1st floor to the 89th floor of Taipei 101 in 39 seconds with a speed of 1010m/min, Toshiba has developed a powerful driving system which consists of 1186 kW high power traction machines and high reliability control system.
